General charitable purposes UK wide, with priority to those in the Midlands, particularly Coventry and Warwickshire. For details of their grants, download their annual report. They've made a very small number of grants as large as £250k, most seem to be circa £5k to £30k but they do make smaller awards too. They have funded core costs, as well as ongoing support of quite a few charities. Spend in year ending Apr 23 was £5.3m pa.

ASTOP

ASTOP supports communities by partnering charities with landlords so they can both benefit from business rates reductions. These initiatives significantly reduce landlord costs and give non-profit organisations and charities rent-free temporary office and retail spaces across the UK. Active Workplace Solutions

Office design and facilities management. They support a number of local charities in the Greater Reading area, have staff volunteering and also give clients the opportunity to donate unwanted furniture and equipment, which they deliver and install free of charge. It's not on their website but I understand they allow non profits to use their meeting rooms as well.

Alice Ellen Cooper Dean Trust

In addition to supporting local and national charities, mainly on a regular basis, the Foundation has made overseas grants to advance education, relieve poverty, sickness, and suffering some of which have been caused by conflict and disasters. Spend to end Mar 22 was £1.6m. Funds Dorset, (West) Hampshire, Ecuador, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Some online info suggests you have to be a registered charity and also that they fund sport and disability, but isn't confirmed.

Altruist

UK based Altruist supports charities that help children with albinism in Tanzania and the rest of Africa. They donated more than 45,000 tubes of sunscreen, worth over €250,000, to charities in 2023. This brings the total value of donations since the brand launched in 2015 to over €1million. 10p is donated from every Altruist sale and this is used to send Altruist’s sun protection products where needed. Ascot Racecourse

“Ascot Racecourse Supports” supports local (Berkshire area) and equine charities. Over 250 local charities, community groups and businesses benefit each year via exposure on our national platform, monetary contributions and complimentary tickets for use as raffle/auction prizes. They provide £35k pa to Berkshire Community Foundation and make contributions to all the national charities, in addition to those closer to home and abroad.

Associated Country Women of the World

A UK registered charity. The relief of poverty, health and education through advocacy at the United Nations and associated agencies, partnership working, learning from each other and funding small scale woman to woman projects to empower women and their communities worldwide. An association of member societies and individuals. Spend in year ending Dec 22 was £625k, but grants was £132k and my guess is you need to be a member to qualify.

Assumption Legacy Fund

Aims to make a real and positive difference to the lives of marginalised and disadvantaged people and to support Catholic education in both formal and informal settings in the UK. Grants range from £5,000 to £50,000 pa and can be awarded on a one-off basis or for up to 3 years. Open to registered non profits. May fund core and capital costs. Applications are by invitation only; they do not accept unsolicited applications. However, if you meet at least one of the priorities listed above, you can send a brief paragraph explaining what you are seeking funding for and stating how much you are requesting. Grants from £300 to £50,000 to get more people taking part in sport. Open to most not-for-profit sports clubs or community organisations in Wales. It funds things like: Equipment to help more people take part in sport, coaching courses, entry-level training courses, venue hire for new teams only, and pitch improvement projects, now have funding windows.

Big Issue Invest - Impact Loans England Programme

The Impact Loans England programme (ILE) is a competitive blended loan/grant product that is designed to provide an ‘inclusive, flexible and patient’ loan offering to help social organisations and charities grow. Loan, with up to 20% as a grant. Between £20k and £200k, in some events, up to £400k. Interest Rate: Between 7.5%-8.5%. Repayment: Over 1-8 years. Security: Usually not required. Up to £3,000 and aims to support people in Birmingham and the Black Country for one of the following aims: promote health and wellbeing, tackling disadvantage, support local solutions to meet local needs, promote community cohesion and develop sustainable and supporting communities. Up to £3000 for most non profits with income under £500k pa. No deadline.
